Presenting a PowerPoint in a Microsoft Teams Meeting is About to Get Easier
With Microsoft Ignite 2021 wrapping up earlier this week, Microsoft Teams users have a ton of new features to be excited about. Microsoft announced several new features aimed at making presenting content in Teams meetings easier and more interactive. While not the highlight of the announced features, anyone who has ever presented a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation during a Teams meeting will surely appreciate the minor additions of presenter view, grid view, and take control. Presenter view allows the meeting presenter to display slide content to meeting participants and simultaneously view the speaking notes which are only visible to the presenter. This replicates the behavior of presenter view in Microsoft PowerPoint. Before the release of this feature, presenters weren’t able to share slide content and see speaking notes directly in the Teams meeting. Many users opted for workarounds such as sharing their entire screen while presenting directly in Microsoft PowerPoint. While this approach isn’t overly complicated, it does create extra work for presenters and can divert focus away from delivering a quality presentation (if you’ve ever found yourself asking “can you see my screen everyone” you know what I’m talking about).
